HBMBA WTNB+ Dig Day at Christie Lake

June 7 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT

HBMBA WTNB+ Dig Day at Christie Lake June 7, 2026

The HBMBA team is excited to host a WTNB+ (Women’s, Trans, Non-Binary +) Dig Day at Christie Lake. In this hands-on, women-led dig day, participants will be introduced to tools of the trade, learn about safety, and work on trail maintenance. Bring your mountain bike for a social ride afterwards on the singletrack (weather permitting).

The schedule will be trail work from 9-11, ride from 11-12.

Please sign up to let us know you’re coming.

Who Can Join Us
No experience is required and all HBMBA members who self-identify as women, trans, or non-binary are welcome. Non-members may attend one trail build day, but must become a member in order to attend additional build days due to the HBMBA’s insurance and liability policy.

Participants must be 18+. If you have younger family members keen to join us, please reach out to hello@hbmba.ca and we will do our best to accommodate.

Meeting Place
Mountain bike parking lot at Christie Lake Conservation Authority (the west-most parking lot, follow signage).

Accessing Christie Lake Conservation Authority
If you are an HBMBA member attending a dig day at Christie Lake, you may access the park for free on the Dig Day. At the front gate, show staff proof of HBMBA membership and your Dig Day Registration.

What to Bring
It is recommended that you wear sturdy shoes (steel toe is ideal, but not necessary) and work/gardening gloves. Sunglasses or safety glasses are also recommended. All tools will be provided by HBMBA.

Bring snacks, water, insect repellant and an extra layer(s). Be prepared to carry your gear out on trail with you.

Inclement Weather
If the weather is not suitable for building, you will receive an email (no less than 2hrs prior to the event start).
