November 2, 2021 update: Our efforts to establish new singletrack mountain bike trails at the Hyde Tract came to a sudden and unexpected halt earlier this season due to potential conflicts with other users. We are heartbroken at this reversal from the landowner and have unfortunately put our plans on hold until we can reach a resolution. This is far from over and we are continuing our discussions and negotiations with the Ministry to push for shovels in the ground.
That being said, if you are still riding or hiking there, this week is shotgun season, so wear bright colours, go with a partner, and make lots of noise.

Welcome to the Hyde Tract! This property is located north off of Highway 8 in Flamborough on Safari and Kirkwall road. HBMBA took stewardship of the trails at the Hyde Tract in 2019 and quickly reclaimed around 10km of multi-use trails. The reclaimed trails were originally designed for cross-country skiing back in the 1970's and are now well loved by hikers, equestrians, and cyclists. The Hyde Tract's most prominent features are the numerous farmhouse ruins dating back to the early 1900's and the drumlin.
We're building a brand new stacked loop trail network specific for mountain biking and we look forward to sharing that with everyone. Follow us on social media or consider joining to show your support and help us grow the mountain biking community in the Hamilton Burlington region.
