SUMMARY:HBMBA presents Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day at Christie Lake 2025
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a morning on bikes with the whole family. This event\, led by HBMBA board members\, is geared towards riders ages 5 to 12 and their parents. \nThis is a family-oriented event intended for young riders ages 5-12 and their parents. We will meet in the field closest to the mountain bike parking lot to begin our day with some skills practice and fun learning in a relaxed environment. Then we’ll hit the trails to put our learning into action! This is an opportunity to ride as a family and meet other kids and families who enjoy riding the mountain bike trails at Christie Lake. (Please note\, this is not a formal lesson and parents are responsible for their children at all times.) \n\nAll children must be accompanied by a parent and be able to ride a bike with pedals and without training wheels.\nHelmets for all riders (parents and children) must be worn.\nRiders must have closed toed shoes (no sandals).\nWe will take breaks along the trail\, and families can join for as long or as short a time as they feel comfortable with.\nBug spray and sunscreen are recommended.\n\nWe will be hosting a small BBQ with hotdogs towards the end of the event; however families are also welcome to bring their own picnic lunches\, if preferred. Families are encouraged to bring snacks and water. \nHBMBA Directors and volunteers will be on site to help support and lead this family event. \nPlease sign up to let us know you are attending! \n***This is a free event\, however the event ticket does not cover the cost of entry to Christie Lake Conservation Area.
