SUMMARY:HBMBA WTNB+ Dig Day at Christie Lake
DESCRIPTION:The HBMBA team is excited to host another event from the ’24 Season Series. This will be our second annual WTNB+ (Women’s\, Trans\, Non-Binary+) Dig Day at Christie Lake. In this hands-on\, women-led Dig Day\, participants will be introduced to tools of the trade\, learn about safety\, and help keep the trail work moving. \nWho Can Join Us \nNo experience is required and all HBMBA members who self-identify as women\, trans\, or non-binary are welcome. Non-members may attend one trail build day\, but must become a member in order to attend additional build days due to the HBMBA’s insurance and liability policy. Participants must be 18+. If you have younger family members keen to join us\, please reach out to hello@hbmba.ca and we will do our best to accommodate. \nPlease sign up at this link to confirm your spot. \n*** New for this year: Dig Day volunteers will have free access to Christie Lake if they don’t have an annual Hamilton Conservation Pass. Members will simply have to show their HBMBA membership confirmation (you can log in here) and their Dig Day reservation at the main gate to gain access to the park free of charge. \nMeeting Place \nMountain bike parking lot at Christie Lake Conservation Authority (the west-most parking lot\, follow signage). \nWhat to Bring \nSturdy shoes (steel toe is ideal\, but not necessary)\nWork/gardening gloves.\nSunglasses or safety glasses are also recommended\nSnacks\, water\, insect repellant and an extra layer(s). Be prepared to carry your gear out on trail with you.\n*** All tools will be provided by HBMBA. \nInclement Weather \nIf the weather is not suitable for building\, you will receive an email (no less than 2 hrs prior to the event start).
